Big time Moto Cross returns to the famous circuit Canada Heights on Sunday April 22nd when round 2 of the Maxxis British Moto Cross Championships comes to Swanley in Kent and again this prestigious meeting will again be supported by the News Shopper.
Known as the “South’s most spectacular circuit”, Canada Heights came be reached by following the AA signposts at Junction 3 of the M20/M25 interchange and for those of you with Sat Navs you will need to tap in BR8 8DX to get your directions.
The organisers, the Sidcup Motorcycle Club are making this event very special and again have done extensive work to give spectators easy access to all parts of the venue with superb viewing areas.
The British Championship is recognised as one of the most competitive domestic Moto Cross championships in the world and has paved the way for World Champions in the past and this event which is organised by the Sidcup Moto Cycle Club has earned a good reputation over the years as being one of the better rounds of the series.
It is a great adrenalin rush to watch  the bravery of the riders jumping to great heights over the hilly course, soak up the atmosphere of the very best riders in the country battling for honours  and the  raw excitement of this sport is a shock to the system.
The tension of 40 bikes on the start line and the crazy first corner charge must be seen to be believed. The chestnut fenced circuit lets you get so close to the action you can feel it through your boots! If you enjoy photography, this is definitely the motor sport for you!!
The Maxxis British Motocross Championship caters for the MX1 class for bigger bikes, and the MX2 is the smaller class. The first Championship race is at 10.55 with the day’s racing finishing just after 5 pm.
The spectacular eight-round national series is televised by Eurosport and attracts the finest motocross riders in the country, with some of the British teams fielding international riders who also compete in the World Grand Prix Series.
You can start the day with the (free) paddock walkabout where you can meet the riders and get autographs, watch mechanics preparing for the days racing, see the bikes checked over in the official testing areas, pick up posters and stickers and soak up the electric atmosphere.
There is an extensive shopping village where you can pick up a bargain for all things Moto Cross related and souvenirs to remember this special day by.
Four Championship races, podium presentations along with support races mean there will never be a dull moment in this already hectic day.
Everything you need for a great day out is provided by the Sidcup club,
Including excellent free parking, children’s entertainment, plenty of refreshments (and plenty of loo’s) plus a beer tent.

This is a great event for all the family, with tickets aimed at encouraging them to attend, £45 for a family ticket, adult admission £20, concessions £15 and children £5. Car Parking is free. (All tickets are on the day, there is no advance booking facility)Our newly acquired 17 acre field will be used for parking with easy road access.
