    NOVEMBER WOBBLERS TRIAL

Sunday 15th November 2009

Specially designed easy sections for newcomers to the sport of Trials. Just turn up, sign on and 'wobble away' without any pressure. If you want to start Trials this is the event for you.

Report By Alan Clarke

Only four weeks ago and the Sidcup club used its Canada Heights facility to host a Beginners and Wobblers trial and 101 riders attended, well last Sunday the second event took place and despite the atrocious weather nationally on the Saturday, Sunday was a beautiful sunny day and 105 riders of both sexes, all ages and all types of bike were in action.
10 sections were laid out around the extremities of the ‘Heights’, each featured two route; an easy ‘beginners’ route and as the name suggest a ‘wobblers’ route based on easyish novice section. These sections were laid out in the wind and rain on Saturday by the very hard working clerk of the course; Jamie Clarke and club must congratulate him on his efforts.
Although not a competitive event, a number of private duels mainly between father and son or father and daughter were observed taking place, as was a large number of pre65 being ‘aired’ in preparation for the forthcoming Jack Thompson British bike trial. Several sidecar duos used the opportunity for some practice and a number of enduro and long distance trials were seen honing their skills in the sections.

On behalf of all the participants a big thanks you Peter Burton and other Sidcup members for yet another excellent event.
