From Marge Clarke (Secretary of the meeting) : "Firstly I would like to thank my team of helpers for the tremendous effort they put in, not only on the day, but in the months leading up to March 16th, which enabled everyone to witness a superb meeting. In all of our 16 years of organising this event we have never enjoyed such good weather and it obviously made a difference as the huge turn out of spectators confirmed. It also meant that we witnessed fast and furious racing on a track that was in ideal condition and not heavily rutted as in previous years. I'm pleased to report that Neil Prince is making steady progress and it is hoped he will be transferred to a hospital near his Oxfordshire home at time of writing."
From Alan Clarke (Clerk of the Course) : "Having just been dragged in from gardening in my first weekend off since Christmas to compile a short thank you to all those who helped before, during and after the event, I would like to personally say a big thank you all it would be unfair to single out anybody, suffice it to say that if you helped in any way and are reading this then the thank you is to you. On a light hearted note when sitting in the container having a well earned cup of tea in the weeks preceding the event we did, on more than one occasion calculate that the average age of those working was in excess of 60 years old, for the long term future of the club we need to look seriously at how we attract younger people to assist in what has been some good fun weekends. It is very difficult when the principle painter of the posts is over 86 years old and it makes it very difficult to get the averages down unless we have quite a few youngsters helping."
From the winners of our News Shopper competition who won a VIP meal and a chaufferdriven limo trip (thanks to Mike Swaisland).
