Sunday the 23 rd May saw the Canada Heights circuit host the 6 th round of the South Eastern Centre championship. Excellence racing conditions prevailed as the watering team lead by Alan Clarke in the new club tractor kept the dust at bay.
In the expert class, local rider Ben Lambert Williams won overall with two moto wins but Zac Blackwell won the first moto. Sidcup stalwart David Williams wrapped it up nicely, securing third place with his consistency.
In the visiting ACE Fourstroke Class it was Scott Robinson’s day with clean sweep of all three motos, while Lance Marshal showed a return to past from with second overall. Chief marshal for this weekend’s British GP, Yan Dixon made an successful outing in the ACE class before he spends the next week assisting getting the spectacular Gore Basin circuit ready.
Darren Redman won both motos In the Junior A class, while Justin Collier claimed a 2 nd and 3 rd to propel him to expert status. Colin Philpot, a former Sidecar GP pilot kept the traditional solo riders toes with consistent high finishes. Paul Palmer posted victories in both Junior B motos, while Alex Weston through consistency took second overall. Neil Chamber, who won both motos, dominated Junior C class.
The South Eastern Championship moves on to the Crawley Club’s Coolham circuit for a Sidecar round on 6 th June. The series returns to Canada Heights on the 4 th July for Experts, Juniors (125/250F and Open) as well as a round of the Sidecar Clubman’s championship.
