The "Timber Woods Long Distance Trial" is named in honour of our late Chairman and President, Timber Woods. Enduro, trail and trials bikes from 1938 to today will be used.

One of the best trail rides you'll ever do in Kent. One year I'll
get back down for that one again. The trials sections are very do-
able on a trail bike and it really is a nice day out.

(A few years ago there were about 30 of us refuelling somewhere out
Detling way during the event and an old couple came up to tell us
what a great thing it was to see so many people out enjoying their
motorcycling in the countryside. I will never forget that moment -
they went on to say how it was a bit like the companionship they got
from playing bowls or somesuch. "TWLDT entry £x, memory of trail
riding being seen in a good light, priceless.")

Timber Woods, the last club president at the Bow and District garage Gymkhana in August 1956. The Timber Woods Long Distance Trial is named in his honour.
