Long Distance Trials (LDTs) involve road legal motorcycles (trail bikes) using the local green lane network (with authority form relevant bodies). Starting from a car park, riders set out on a circular route of around 100 miles, with several trials sections en route (designed for green lane style bikes). Riders return to the start where there is often a short special test.
In recent years Sidcup & DMCC have put two Long Distance Trials (LDTs) ; the Sidcup LDT (or Charity LDT in aid of the Kent Air Ambulance) in West Kent in the spring, and the Timber Woods LDT in East Kent, in the summer. These two events, together with the Witley MCC's LDT in the autumn in the NW Hampshire area, make up the 3 round local championship.
In addition to Long Distance Trials, club members often arrange ride outs around kent and occasionally weekend trips to Northern France.
