Report

By Peter Burrell

Well done to all those who rode the Club Enduro last month - especially the many newcomers to the sport. The results are further on in this Compass. I hope this gentle introduction' will encourage you to enter more enduros in The Sporting Motorcyclist, but enter straight away as they fill up very fast.

Other clubs' enduros are at least four hours duration and the stage timings will be tighter, so you will not have up to twenty minutes rest break between them! However, our Club enduro should have got you familiar with time and punch cards, refuelling areas and preparation of bike and yourself before the day.

One thing other clubs are hot on is 'blue tape areas'. If the track is marked with blue tape, you MUST ride at walking pace, or you may be excluded on the spot. Such areas will only be around the checkpoint or where the track crosses footpaths or bridleways.

I have written an information sheet on what enduros are all about and hints and tips. If you would like one, please contact me by phone or email.
