The November Clearing Up Day

Saturday 12th November 2005

Closed to Club Social, MX Practice and Trial

Club members clear up the stakes out on the track in readiness for the bulldozers to work over the winter.

When done, those who help have the rest of daylight hours to ride the MX track for practice or ride a club trial.

After dark, we have a barbecue and fireworks display.

This is for club members only (ie join before the meetting) - you will need to arrive before 10am and the work is normally done by 1am giving at least 3 hours of riding. We'll need matshals so everyone intending to do the MX practisce will need to bring a marshal or do a tag team with a mate.

Report - By Jamie Clarke

2005 November closed to club was another cracking event. Held in bright November sunshine and sizeable number of the clubs membership turned up to begin the clearing up. Rider from top AMA start Mark Eastwood through to MX clubmen, trials, trail, and enduro riders and their families came to help. All the track stakes and straw bales were collected, while general rubbish was cleaned up. Work was also carried out on the clubs new water tank that will double our water storage capacity. The work was soon finished and after some tidying up of the clubs stores and a lunch break at Daisy's dinner.

The afternoon saw trials riders off to the wood for a trials practice while enduro and trail riders rode in the bottom field. MX riders took to the track in separate adult and youth groups and practice until the light faded.

The early evening then saw a club BBQ (thank you chef Barb) and an excellent firework's display (thanks to Mark).
